Darren and Holly met last week and decided that the best way to generate interest in new performances is for us to meet regularly in a specific place. This is going to be The Paget Room in Fearon Hall in Loughborough, We have enough lighting, sound and general performance equipment to set up and perform pretty much anywhere.

Had an offer from John Pierce who has written a mini musical called "Carmantoo". Might add this to Holly's "Bunga Bunga" as a double-bill next summer. I am researching material for "After The Wave" - it's going to take me more than a year, so aiming for 2013 with that one.

Well at least for this summer's performance Fearon Hall will be available! Spoke to Jim Dutton over the weekend and it's looking like everything is going ahead. Also had highly productive meeting with Ray Taylor and Paul Hollingsworth re YOU ARE MY FAIR. Lawrence Holness is also up for it so all I need now is choreographer to complete the set!!! I guess the idea of a blog is that you keep it updated regularly but, as usual, I haven't. Well it's all done and dusted. I went to Martock and Glastonbury yesterday to see Donk and show him the songs from the show. He was very impressed. I now have nine new songs of his to use for the next one and I'm planning to go back to Martock during half term to record some more. Working title for next show? "You Are My Fair!" It's got to the point where I am approaching the end of the writing stage of this project. Each time I return to the script, which is more frequently now I am off with a poorly foot, I am finding ways to tweak various scenes to make them more entertaining or easier to perform. Well the first draft is done and already I have begun the best part of writing something ... the development. Some of the songs have been moved to different scenes. I have also noticed that Dunc sings too many of the songs and will possibly bore the audience. Therefore I am in the process off sharing them out amoungst other characters. Continue reading ...
